Unlocking climate mitigation potential through comprehensive building sector strategies

The BUILD_ME project has released a comprehensive report titled, “Mapping of the Building Sector in National Strategies of Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.” This report provides a deep dive into the national strategies of the BUILD_ME countries, mapping and analysing the relevance of the building sector, and suggests some first recommendations to increase the importance and coherence around the built environment.

The report identifies and evaluates various national documents, including Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs), and other relevant policies. While the analysis reveals that all three BUILD_ME partner countries have developed comprehensive strategies to address climate change, the building sector is often underrepresented.
